Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture

Using acupuncture to promote health and relieve disease had its roots in Chinese medicine, which has been practiced for more than 2,500 years.

Acupuncture is the use of sterile, single use, hair thin needles inserted at specific acupuncture points along the body to stimulate the flow of “Qi.” This brings the body back into a naturally balanced state called homeostasis. “Qi” is the life energy within us that motivates our actions, gives us strength and moves us through each day. When “Qi” becomes depleted or stagnant, illness and imbalance occur.

Along with addressing your symptoms acupuncture treats the root cause of disease. Many patients report feeling better than they have felt in years.

In some cases those facing risky and invasive surgery find acupuncture a viable alternative. Check with your acupuncturist and medical doctor to review the efficacy of your case.

Both the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institutes of Health recognize acupuncture as a safe and effective treatment for a variety of acute and chronic disorders.
