Herbal Medicine

Medicinal plants, minerals and sometimes animal substances (not from extinct or endangered species) have been used in China for the past 2,500 years as Chinese Medicine.

Formulas may contain any of these substances and can be made into teas, powders, capsules, pills, and tinctures to be taken to affect disease states and symptoms. (See list in acupuncture section.)

Herbal prescriptions are often used in conjunction with acupuncture treatments but may also be used as a therapy by itself.

Herbal medicine, acupuncture, diet and exercise comprise Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) one of the oldest forms of health care.

Herbal medicine can also be used to strengthen the immune system and prevent disease.

A thorough evaluation of your specific case is completed to diagnose imbalances before prescribing a formula.
